It’s important to be able to come to work and feel valued, working in an environment which is friendly, supportive and, most importantly, good for your health. Most accidents that happen in a workplace can be prevented with the right measures in place. This is why the priority of Cross-Guard’s CEO and Directors has been to continue striving to achieve the best possible health and safety results.

Since becoming a stand-alone company, the Cross-Guard team have taken 271 health and safety actions.  From buying new lockers for safe storage, to assessing clean-down procedures and service needs for machinery, everyone at Cross-Guard works hard to achieve the common goal of creating a safe and secure working environment.

An important part of implementing health and safety measures is to raise awareness and get the team on board. The team at Cross-Guard receive frequent refresher training on the fundamentals as well as toolbox talks with opportunities available for employees to increase their skills.

Some members of the Cross-Guard team also attend externally arranged courses, including first aid and fire marshal courses. In a separate post, the company’s Grilles Manager Carl talks about his experience of a 4-day IOSH course. A motto he took away from the course was ‘work safe, home safe,’ which is something we emphasize to the team.

Production Director Jamie said: “In our second year trading as an independent company, we’re delighted to have achieved so much.

“Health and safety shouldn’t be learned through accident. By ensuring we implement appropriate preventative measures, we’re making Cross-Guard a safe place to work and protecting the team.

“I look forward to all we can achieve next year.”
