New surveyor joins the Cross-Guard team

We’re delighted to welcome Nikolas to the team as our new surveyor. He brings with him a lot of experience from his previous job role and he looks forward to helping our customers. We interviewed Nikolas to find out more:

Why did you decide to apply to Cross-Guard?

I enjoyed the surveying aspect of my previous job, and Cross-Guard allowed me the opportunity to pursue a dedicated surveyor role. Manufacturing is an industry I wanted to work within – I find it interesting learning about the development of products from start to finish and understanding how we can deliver bespoke solutions that customers require. The location of the role is very convenient.

How do you find working at Cross-Guard?

Working at Cross-Guard is enjoyable. I really like the work life balance and the people are great to get on with and make me feel at home.

What do you enjoy the most within your role as a surveyor?

The week varies – which is always a good thing. I prefer to be within such an active and varied role, dealing with different clients on a weekly basis.

What motivated you to become a surveyor?

I’ve wanted to become a surveyor for a while. I gained experience in surveying from my last role and wanted to progress within this area and better myself. I felt it was the right career choice for me.

What previous experience do you have of surveying?

Previously, I worked as a merchandiser. Part of the role involving surveying existing stores to propose changes that would make them better/safer. I’ve developed a keen eye for detail and a good understanding of what’s involved in creating safe and secure customer environments. 

Are there any interesting facts about yourself that you’d like to share?

After a busy week at work, I relax by playing football every Sunday morning. I’ve played for probably 25 years – it’s something I’m very passionate about. I’m also the club secretary and captain for my Sunday football team.
