In a previous article, we discussed the benefits that implementing our cycle to work scheme brings to Cross-Guard employees. We also provided you with a sneak peak of Cross-Guard’s new bike shelter.
Today, we started digging the foundations to put up the new shelter, and the timing coincides nicely with the start of the UCI World Championships for 2019 – a cycling event to sweep across the roads of Yorkshire.
Grilles Manager Carl said: “It’s nice to see the UCI Championships encouraging so many people to take up cycling and work towards their own fitness goals.
“We look forward to welcoming the cyclists – it’ll be great to witness this fantastic event so close to home.
“I’m happy to see Cross-Guard is celebrating the race by constructing the company bike shelter, motivating employees to take part in the company’s cycle to work scheme.”
According to the BBC, more than 250 million people will be set to watch the UCI Championships across the globe. With notorious, award-winning cyclists taking part to help raise money for Leeds Cares, the official fundraising partner, we’re sure many of Cross-Guard’s employees will be taking an interest.
We’ll continue to update you as work progresses with the bike shelter. In the meantime, if you’ll be travelling on the roads this week, make sure you plan ahead for your journey to avoid road closures due to the cycling event.
