Baking a difference for Macmillan Cancer Research

This year, we launched our first internal company bake-off to get the team engaged and to celebrate Cross-Guard’s best baker. From cakes, to brownies, through to the final entry of sticky toffee pudding, we’ve enjoyed a range of sweet treats over several weeks, and everyone has given their best effort to be crowned the top baker. You can see a selection of the delicious bake-off entries below.

We decided to announce the winner during a coffee morning to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Research, whereby members of our team could donate to buy a range of different bakes. All proceeds will go to Macmillan and we hope our contributions will go a long way in helping support a very worthy cause.

The winner of the Cross-Guard bake-off was our colleague Ashley who submitted exceptionally tasty sticky toffee pudding desserts. In second place, our colleague Marie baked a delicious, stunningly designed two-tiered cake. Finally, our colleague Nina was voted third place – nobody could resist the yummy, salted caramel cupcakes that she baked!

Our bake-off even attracted the attention of the Great British Bake-Off. The company got in touch to see whether any of our employees would like to enter for their upcoming bake-off competition. We nominate our bake-off winner Ash to enter!
