Technology security: protecting your electronics
We previously released an article introducing our #VoltYourTech campaign, which is dedicated to raising awareness, particularly within the retail market, around the importance of securing any bulk technology/electricals that you stock or sell. By ‘vaulting’ your tech, you will help deter and prevent theft of high-value items, including laptops, mobile devices, iPads and smart watches.
Alarming statistics: criminal activity relating to technology
If you’ve been following our social channels, you may have noticed we’ve been releasing posts sharing alarming statistics on technology crime. Here are two interesting statistics below:
The Mirror shows that £27 million of smart phones are stolen each year. In most cases, popular targets for theft involved Apple products, likely due to the anticipated value of the devices.
Gartner research has also found that a laptop is stolen every 53 seconds. This just empathises the point that technology theft is increasingly common, and thieves are targeting individuals or companies with the highest perceived reward. Popular targets will include any shops that have various bulk electronics available, but no perceived security in place.
The solution: Safestor for tech security
As the #VoltYourTech campaign continues, we’ll keep releasing relevant statistics to help increase awareness of the risks of unprotected electronic devices. If you stock or sell bulk electronics, we would recommend a tech security cabinet to store devices in, when not in use/on show.
What should you look for in a tech security cabinet? The first thing is good storage space in addition to security. Cross-Guard’s Safestor for tech security cabinet has various sizes available, and the cabinets are adaptable to your specific needs.
In addition to storage space, you need to consider the best cabinet for security of your electronic devices. A lot of competitive products on the market offer some degree of security with strong locking mechanisms and thick steel frames. However, Cross-Guard’s Safestor for tech provides unrivalled security. As a more heavy-duty option, Safestor tech security cabinets limit the amount of risk to your high-value items, keeping them safe and secure.
Where other products may only include a single lock, Safestor for tech security cabinets have 3 deadlocks installed, and are manufactured from 3mm thick steel. This means these security cabinets are a lot stronger and more robust than alternative products on the market.
Proven protection for technology
One of Cross-Guard’s clients, a global leading telecommunications provider, actually specifies that a Safestor for tech should be installed in every new store they open. This is a great testament to the product quality and durability of Safestor.
