How easy is it to maintain security grilles?

One of the core benefits of security grilles when compared to security roller shutters is the fact that they are very easy to maintain. With no electrical components, security gates retract manually, so you have complete control over the product. There’s no concern of expensive electrical faults.

Maintaining and cleaning your security grille system

In order to ensure smooth operation of your security gates and to preserve their aesthetically pleasing appearance, it’s advised you clean them regular by wiping with a damp cloth using mild detergent such as soapy water.

You can also use a soft clean cloth to dust the security grille, paying attention to the security grille tracks and the top of lattices where dust builds up most. For the bottom track of the security gate, you can use a handheld vacuum to remove any debris. This is especially important for surface or recess mounted tracks to ensure the security grille can retract smoothly and without any hindrance.

Installation advice on security grilles

Following set instructions for installation is important, particularly if the security grille is certified as, although the security grille bears the certification, incorrect installation could cause an issue. Please do ask us if you need advice on security grille installation for a project, and the specialist Cross-Guard Grilles team will be happy to advise.
